Personal Power
Monday, October 24, 2011
If people could only see the benefit of giving their strength to God, they would; instead, they believe their reward comes in giving of themselves to something else. It’s why many people invest personal power in earthly pursuits and pleasure and why even those considered religious have creatively structured their own special relationship with God to include their own pet indulgences; and it explains why, for them, the power has gone out!
True spiritual power is the critical factor for achieving personal power. Yet for many of God’s people, power for prayer and supernatural power to address the challenges of life have gone out like a light disconnected from the power source. Their personal power is small – very small.
If I give my strength—if I yield it to the Lord—I receive much more in the exchange. As I honor and worship Him with all that I am, I receive from Him all that I need: “Now unto Him that is able to keep me from falling, and to present me faultless before the presence of His glory with great joy, To the only wise God my Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever.” Jude 1:24-25
Amen.
