NEW! Mary Kay Sun Care Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50...
is here just in time for the summer days! It's perfect for consumers looking for a high level of sun protection. Time to head outdoors for some fun in the sun!
Skin Cancer is the No. 1 most common cancer, but fortunately, it is highly preventable. Scientific studies have determined that daily use of sunscreen can reduce your chances of developing some forms of skin cancer. You should select a sunscreen that blocks damaging rays, carries SPF of 15 or greater and is easy to apply. Our Mary Kay Sunscreens do all three!
WHY SUNSCREEN?
A good sunscreen product should be "broad spectrum", containing ingredients that protects against both UVB and UVA rays.
Sunlight contains damaging ultraviolet B and A rays. UVB rays are typically associated with sunburn; UVA rays cause sunlight-induced premature skin aging, wrinkling and age spots. Both UVB and UVA rays damage skin and can lead to skin cancer.
WHAT IS SPF?
The SPF, or Sun Protector Factor, of sunscreens is calulated by comparing the amount of time needed to cause sunburn on unprotected skin. The amount of time it takes you to sunburn depends on your skin type, and the SPF number you need depends on how much time you expect to be outdoors.
IS A HIGHER SPF BETTER?
Higher SPF is good for people with highly photosensitive skin but do not provide incrementally more protection. For example, an SPF70 blocks 98.6% of sunburn damage, only slightly higher than an SPF30 product. You will also want to know that for daily use particularly on the face, an SPF15 to SPF50 is recommended.
USE & APPLICATION
Be sure to apply sunscreen generously to all exposed areas of skin and pay particularly to the face, ears, hands and arms.
Sunscreens should be reapplied regularly at least every 2 hours or after swimming or perspiration (sweating). Mary Kay SPF50 Sunscreen is designed to be very water-resistant and is specially formulated for use on the face and body.
To recap, the best sunscreen in the one you actually put on!
So give your skin the protection it deserves, keeping it beautiful and healthy!
